Royd Wordsmiths - Poet Tony Langham and Storyteller Pete Keal will be performing for Midgley Community Forum on Friday 19 September. The event will take place at Jerusalem Farm, Jerusalem Lane, Booth and starts at 7pm.
Mytholmroyd based Royd Wordsmiths was formed last year and performed in the village during this year's Hebden Bridge Arts Festival. During September, Tony and Pete have been available to social and fund-raising events in Mytholmroyd, Midgley and Cragg Vale for free and it is through this scheme that Friday’s event in Midgley has been organised.
Tony Langham has had poetry published in a wide range of anthologies and has published his own book of poems "Apocalypse Soup". A former teacher, Tony regularly performs his work and runs poetry workshops.
Pete Keal has been working as a storyteller since 1991. He tells traditional Folk Tales, Legends, Trickster Tales, Myths, Wonder Tales and Lies from many countries and cultures in schools, libraries, museums and at festivals.
Together, Tony and Pete promise an evening of contemporary verse, traditional stories and mesmerising words on Friday 19 September.
